Derek Redmond arrived at the 1992 Olympic Summer Games in Barcelona favored to medal in the 400 meters. The stadium was packed with 65,000 fans, bracing themselves for one of sport’s greatest and most exciting spectacles. As he was about 150 meters into the race, he heard a pop in his hamstring. What he did next is considered to be one of the greatest moments in Olympics history.
